This is a sad story Janet. It brings up many questions, using today's standards. But as we know, they were different times. The AI mage of the little boy is so realistic.

Yes. There would certainly be a lot to criticise if it was in modern day times but, as you say, perfectly acceptable back then. I would like to know how much more of the circumstances of Lawrence's death Thomas knew and whether he was ever asked about it.

What a horrible thing to experience. I agree that it would be interesting to know what Thomas had to say. The way it struck me was Thomas's being in bed might have been a reaction of fear and not knowing what to do when Lawrence fell into the water.

Sadly children drowning was quite common in creeks and rivers. I wrote about my little relative who drowned in a dam just last week. I too used ai to create and image, although I decided to only have the dam with a fence around it as a clip art. The one you’ve done is very realistic.

And, yes ... the image does hit you in the face a bit. Do you think it is too much?

Yes. That's a very likely and if so what effect might that have had on him growing up? Was it him that encouraged Lawrence to go out in the first place? Did he feel somehow responsible? Don't you sometimes wish you could go back in time and see what really happened!-?
